The City of Hudson is a beautiful and historic waterfront city. However, as the city has evolved, many of the streets have fallen into disrepair, lack basic bicycle and pedestrian accommodations and are not accessible.

Seniors, parents and other community members have expressed concern about these conditions and underscored the challenges that they face when trying to access various community services, open space and other destinations as a pedestrian.  An American’s with Disabilities Act audit performed in December 2020 confirmed these findings.

In 2017, the City of Hudson was selected by the New York State’s Capital Regional Economic Development Council for a Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) awards A ten million dollar state grant was awarded to fund a variety of projects within the self defined BRIDGE District.   Approximately four million dollars of the total grant is allocated to improving streets and circulation to reconnect the community through properly designed streets.
