7/30 Construction update

As of Monday, July 29th, please see below for a construction update:

The contractor has removed the old stairs leading from Allen Street to Cross Street and is expected to be prepping the new staircase for concrete installation to begin approximately the week of August 12th.

The Warren Street and 1st Street intersection, where the focus of the work is on the corners, has been demolished and the formwork is expected to begin on August 5th, with concrete and curb installation starting approximately August 6 through the 9th.

In preparation for demolition to begin along Front Street, tree removals are occurring the last couple days of July. Demolition of the existing sidewalk and curb along the west side of the street is expected to begin at State Street on August 12th. The first segment the contractor will focus on is along Front Street from State Street to Columbia Street. They will demolish the existing sidewalk and curb and then go back and install new curbing and sidewalks before starting the next segment which is from Columbia Street to Prison Alley.

Project Update

City of Hudson NY awards Hudson Streetscape & Pedestrian Improvements project on May 21, 2024 to Peter Luizzi & Bros Contracting.

Creighton Manning Engineering is leading the construction management with the help of Lu Engineers.

Preconstruction Meeting held on June 26.

Contractor anticipates mobilizing around July 8th, with work set to begin on the Cross Street Stair approximately July 15th, followed by the Warren Street intersections at 2nd Street, 1st Street and Front Street and finally the work along Front Street itself. A more detailed construction schedule will be provided once available.

Project Update

Final construction documents have been completed and the project was issued for bid on Monday, October 31st. BIDs will be opened on November 22nd. Construction is anticipated for the spring of 2023.
